Experiment 18 is a project I worked on for my Capstone while at the University of Cincinnati. It was a concept art, world building project. Over the past couple years I have been revisiting many of the creatures originally designed for the project to update them and make them seem more complete.
The Gorganiri are an extremely large species that live on the planet Guinviale. The vegetation on the surface grows to enormous sizes, allowing the gorganiri to thrive. The planet also has very light gravity, which allows the creature to effortlessly and gracefully move on it’s long toed feet. It almost floats along like a specter through the forest.
I wanted this creature to be majestic and also sort of unsettling with their movement. Which is why I decided to give them such long toes. I wanted them to feel like they were tiptoeing through the underbrush. I took a lot of inspiration of giraffes for this piece.
